Ad Gefrin is an Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery in the heart of Northumberland. Celebrating the unique heritage and ancient hospitality of Northumberland whilst re-awakening the Northumbrian tradition for whisky distilling that has slept for over 200 years.

In Anglo-Saxon times, life, and the growing, harvesting, and preservation of foods were dependent on the seasons.
We continue to celebrate these today in our changing seasonal menus. Our team are working incredibly hard to develop our signature style and showcase the best of local producers throughout the year.

By day enjoy a coffee and cake, a light lunch or sharing platter, or maybe something more hearty. Brunch is available Monday to Saturday, Afternoon Tea packages can be booked on the last Saturday of every month, and Sunday lunch is a favourite every week.
The Bar & Bistro open from 10am to 5pm every day serving from our daytime menu.

By night, we turn the lights down low and offer the chance to enjoy everything from a cosy dinner, celebratory meal or just time to relax with great food.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings we open the doors to a balmy Northumbrian evening.
