Bamburgh Castle
Join your guide, Ragnar Lundgren as he takes you on the journey of the real Uhtred the Bold who defended his home of Bebbanburg and managed to climb the ladder of power where his allies were both Vikings and the King of England. On this tour you will learn about the start of England’s Viking era and its end and we shall compare the fantasy of the famous Last Kingdom to the real history. Find out about a battle scene that was filmed in the area and become Queen or King of the North.

Everyday until 2 November 2025, step into the REAL Last Kingdom of Bebbanburg (Bamburgh Castle). See first hand a selection of key costumes and props used throughout the series!
Including the likes of Uhtred‘s costumes, shield and iconic sword. Don’t miss photo opportunities on The Wessex Throne!
This display is included in your admission ticket to Bamburgh Castle. The Last Kingdom display is in The King’s Hall, Bamburgh Castle and is fully accessible.


Woodhorn Museum
Sat 22nd February – Sun 1st June,

Housed in Woodhorn Museum’s stunning Workshop Galleries, the annual Northumberland Open is the largest exhibition of its type in Northumberland.

The exhibition attracts submissions from artists from across Northumberland and beyond. Works are selected for exhibition by a professional panel of artists and curators who also select an Overall Winner and Highly Commended artworks to be awarded prizes. During the exhibition run, thousands of visitors vote for the ‘People’s Choice Award’ which is announced at the end of the exhibition.
Billy Shiel's Boat Trips
Tours run April - July

This trip operates during April as the birds make their return to the islands and continues during the nesting season from May until the end July. Puffins start to return to the Farne Islands from the end of March with numbers varying until they settle down for nesting mid April. The Puffins start to leave the islands at the end of July/beginning of August.

Child prices are for age 5-15. Under 5’s are classed as infants. No concessions.
Dogs are permitted on this trip.
This trip spends 2 hours sailing around the Farne Islands without a landing and offers ample opportunities to view the prolific bird life which nests on these magnificent islands during the breeding season from May till the end of July.
Highlights include views of Puffins, Guillemots, Shags, Cormorants, Kittiwakes, Arctic Terns, Razorbills and Eider Ducks.

There are so many egg-cellent reasons to be hopping up and down with egg-citement this Easter, as The Plotters’ Forest becomes an egg-plorers paradise.
This Easter Holidays, families are invited to find giant, colourful eggs hidden amongst the winding paths of our Christmas Tree plantation, with puzzles and play equipment to explore along the way.
The Plotters’ Pantry is the perfect pit-stop before heading off to explore Raby Castle, Park and Gardens further, with delicious treats to fuel further adventures.
In the neighbouring Deer Park, with a Spring Awakening trail sheet in hand, enjoy the Easter Family Fun Trail as you keep an eye out along the way for all the beautiful wildlife, including ducks, swans and Raby’s majestic Red and Fallow Deer.

Red Row Beamish Durham DH9 0RW
Car Barn Beamish, the home of Sports, Prestige and Classic cars in the North East, are hosting our fourth year of monthly car meets in 2025. Taking place outside our showroom on the Red Row Estate in County Durham, our meets attract hundreds of cars and thousands of guests. 100% free to attend, and supported by the Black Horse Beamish and Aston Workshop, the Car Barn Drivers’ Club takes place on Thursday evenings between April and September.
Our first Car Barn Drivers’ Club meet of the year celebrates the incredible car culture of Japan, and cars from that nation will be the main feature of the show field.
